Members come
together in a friendly competition to celebrate and reward the outstanding
achievement of PMA members and organizations during the annual banquet
in November.
Call
for Entries
Description.
Professional Marketing Association honors the best examples of marketing
by members in the previous year with its annual Markie Awards. Awards
are presented in 13 categories.
Why
Enter? The awards provide an opportunity for each member,
and their organization, to be recognized publicly for their accomplishments.
Eligibility.
The Markie Awards are open to any member of the Professional Marketing
Association. Members from companies with headquarters outside of Bowling
Green are required to submit locally produced/created items. Only
marketing pieces developed for use and implemented between October
16, 2007 and October 21, 2008 are eligible.
Cost.
A non-refundable payment of $10 per entry or $50 for an unlimited
number of entries is required. Make checks payable to Professional
Marketing Association.
Submission
Guidelines. To enter the 2008 Markie Awards please submit
for each entry:
- A copy of the required materials for the specific category.
- A completed entry form.
-OPTIONAL: A photo of the entry in a pdf or jpg format on
disc.

Deadline.
Entries must be received by October 21, 2008. All
entries must be retrieved at the conclusion of the PMA Banquet/Markie
Awards Presentation.
Notification
of winners. Awards will be presented at the PMA Banquet/Markie
Awards Presentation on November 18, 2008. Tickets to the event are
the responsibility of the member or guest.

Markie Awards
Entry Categories
Entries will be accepted
in the following categories:
1. Brochure
A general publication that outlines your services and capabilities.
Submittal requirements: Two copies of the brochure.
A. 1-2 Color Brochure
B. 3-4 Color Brochure
2. Business Card
Submittal requirements: Two copies of the business card.
3. Direct Mail
Piece
Print materials sent through the mail to clients and potential clients.
Includes postcards, announcements, invitations, personal letters,
etc.
Submittal requirements: Two copies of the direct mail piece.
4. Marketing Campaign
Promotional campaign that involves more than one medium; such as a
mixture of print, advertising, direct mail, specialty items, audio
visuals, etc.
Submittal requirements: A representative sampling of materials used
during the campaign.
5. Newsletter /
eNewsletter
A recurring publication with news/feature articles sent to clients
and potential clients, and distributed by print or electronic means.
(internal or external)
Submittal requirements: Two different issues of the newsletter.
6. Print Advertisement
Newspaper or magazine advertisement used to promote organization/product/service.
Submittal requirements: Two copies of the advertisement.
7. Radio Advertisement
:30 or :60 commercial or public service announcement.
Submittal requirements: CD/cassette or .mp3 file of the advertisement.
8. Specialty Item
Includes apparel, gift items, trinkets, etc. intended for promotion
and not for sale.
Submittal requirements: Two copies of the item.
9. Television Advertisement
:30 or :60 commercial or public service announcement.
Submittal requirements: DVD or VHS copy of the advertisement.
10. Web Site
Submittal requirements: Include web site address on the entry form.
11. Fundraising
Campaign or Special Event
Fundraising campaign that may involve more than one medium
such as a mixture of print, advertising, direct mail, specialty items,
audio visuals, etc. Most importantly, please provide your fundraising
goal and results.
Submittal requirements: A representative sampling of materials used
during the campaign.
12. Press Kit / PR Campaign
A marketing initiative in which free publicity was sought.
Include the dollar value of any publicity received as a result of
the campaign.
Submittal requirements: A sample press kit or materials sent to media
13. Hodge Podge
Have you done something
cool that doesn’t really fall under any of these categories?
Submit it under the Hodge Podge category!
Submittal requirements: Include images or a sampling of materials
for your entry.
