Tips & Tricks: Preparing Good Digital Files
John Giles - The
Giles Group
John A. Giles III is the owner of The Giles Group, a consulting and
training company specializing in prepress issues in the small commercial
printing industry. Based in Winfield, West Virginia, Giles provides
consulting on prepress productivity and digital sales issues for commercial
printers with emphasis on the customer interface. His clients also include
general business clients who purchase printing.
Giles is currently conducting digital audits for printing companies
to help assure they understand the potential of their digital services,
especially in meeting the ever-evolving industry standards for accepting
customer-created digital files, using web-to-print services. He helps
assure the printers have procedures and training in place to make buying
printing easier for the customer.
In addition to 12 Secrets for Digital Profits, he is the author of Digital
Directions: A Digital Workflow Guide for Customer Files; The Digital
Original; Digital Dialog: How to talk with quick printing customers
about computer files, and The DTP PriceList, a desktop publishing pricing
guide for quick printers.
Giles is also a special consultant and technology director for the CPrint®
Certified Printers International, a printing franchise in North America.
He is a contributing editor for Quick Printing magazine and has written
for WhatTheyThink.com and Microsoft.com as well as a variety of digital
related articles for other industry trade publications. He has been
awarded the Industry Award of Distinction by the National Association
of Quick Printers.
Giles conducts seminars on prepress and digital issues for printers
at trade shows and conferences throughout North America. He has been
a featured speaker at the British Association of Print and Copyshops
in London, Print Ontario in Canada, and the Pacific Printing Conference
in Australia. His current speaking topics include digital marketing
and sales, pricing and new digital technology services for the small
commercial printer.
He is a 1972 graduate of Marshall University, Huntington, West Virginia,

Kelley
Coppinger - Advertising Department Professional in Residence, Western
Kentucky University & Commercial Artist and Consultant
With over 17 years experience in graphic arts, Kelley has worked as
Creative Director of Creatronics, Promotion Designer for Texas Monthly
Magazine and Marketing Director for 501 Studios (all of Austin, TX).
After relocating to Bowling Green in 1999 she became Vice-President
of Communication Design for Liberty Printing. She has served as a full-time
member of the WKU Advertising Department faculty since 2000 and continues
to practice as a commercial artist and consultant for companies in many
fields, including healthcare, insurance and engineering.
Heather
Garcia - ImageWest Agency Manager
Originally from San Diego, Heather is a 1998 graduate of WKU's Advertising
Department and worked at an advertising agency in Nashville for 4 years
as VP Client Relations. She has worked with a variety of clients from
international companies to national retail chains. Heather is also an
entrepreneur, owning Blue Moon Antique Market in Franklin, KY and Schuga
Properties. Heather has been the Agency Manager for the only student-run
advertising agency in the nation, ImageWest, since 2003 and currently
serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nashville Advertising
Federation.
Sean
Ward - Digital Design Advertising Owner & CEO
After graduating from the school of Journalism at WKU in 1990, Sean
became senior designer at Camping World where he was responsible for
the production of over 1,700 catalog pages per year. Sean founded Digital
Design Advertising in 1993 and for the past ten years he and his staff
have implemented creative solutions for companies like Fruit of the
Loom, The New York City Marathon, and Integra Bank. Sean co-founded
"Experience Outdoors®," a state syndicated outdoor recreational
travel and tourism publication which garnered national awards from the
North American Travel Journalists Association in 2003 & 2004 as
"Best Domestic Magazine." Sean also serves as part-time faculty
for WKU's school of Journalism & Broadcasting.

This is a program
you won’t want to miss! Nicole Randall will be conducting a dynamic,
interactive presentation focusing on motivating professionals. We will
watch the “Give ‘em the Pickle” customer service video
and learn tips on how to impress your customers. Nicole is Marketing
Director for all three locations of Dinosaur World, including Cave City,
KY, Glen Rose, TX and Plant City, FL. Dinosaur World is an outdoor museum
with over 150 life-size dinosaurs. Nicole is dedicated to the tourism
industry and is involved with Kentucky’s Cave Region, the Kentucky
Tourism Council, Cave City Convention & Visitor’s Commission,
Cave City Chamber of Commerce, Caveland Marketing Association and other
tourism marketing organizations.

2007 Marketing Campaign of the Year
Tim Earnhart is
partner, president & CEO of StoneBluff Enterprises, Inc. Under StoneBluff
Enterprises, Earnhart operates The Liberty Group, a print communications
company based in Bowling Green, KY. Earnhart purchased Liberty in 2000
and began to transform the traditional offset printshop into a marketing
& print communications company. The Liberty Group has achieved annual
sales growth each of the 7 years Earnhart has owned the company, and
currently boasts over 700 clients and has a staff of 15 coworkers. In
January 2005, Earnhart fulfilled a life long dream by opening Earnhart
+ Friends Advertising, a full service ad agency widely successful in
marketing, advertising, public relations, and interactive. E+F currently
has 12 staff members and 25+ local, regional, and national clients.
Earnhart is also a partner in PerformaSource, an international sourcing
company that began business in 2006. With his passion for wise investments,
Earnhart and two others partnered in 2004 to create Premier Partners,
LLC, a real estate investment and management company.
Born in Bern, Switzerland
and raised in Portland, Oregon, Earnhart moved to Bowling Green in 1991
and graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1995 with a degree
in Marketing and Advertising. Prior to purchasing The Liberty Group
in 2000, Earnhart was vice president of marketing for a Wendy's franchisee
that owned 33 restaurant locations in four states. Over the last 13
years, he has provided marketing, advertising, and brand development
consulting for various local, regional, and national clients. Earnhart
has been active both professionally and personally in his community,
and in 2004 Earnhart was chosen as the Bowling Green Area Chamber of
Commerce Small Business Person of the Year. Earnhart and his wife Jennifer
have two children, Hallie (age 10) and Tyler (age 5).

Franklin
Bank & Trust Company will celebrate its 50th anniversary
this year. Today Franklin Bank is still owned by local people who care
about the future of this area, and our slogan is "Hometown banking
at its best since 1958." The marketing theme for this year is "We've
Been Walking the Walk for 50 Years". The employees were all presented
a Christmas gift of red converse tennis shoes to wear on Fridays to
add to the fun of this theme. Other sub-themes are "Stepping Up
to Serve You," "We Put Our Heart and 'Sole' Into Serving You',
etc."
The bank opened for business transactions on Monday, December 1, 1958.
In 1991 there was a major expansion with a relocation to their main
offices at 317 North Main St. in Franklin, Kentucky. The three story
office building had one of the first elevators in Franklin and was a
very popular attraction. Over the years, the bank has grown to 75 employees
with one main banking center and two branch bank locations in Franklin;
and, two full-service banking centers in Bowling Green at 2305 Gary
Farms Boulevard and 661 Dishman Lane Extension.
Gary Broady is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Franklin
Bank and Trust Company. Other executive officers of Franklin Bank include
Jimmy Goodnight, Sr. VP/Chief Credit Officer, Jill Gregory, Sr. VP/Chief
Financial Officer, Cindy Hines, Sr. VP/ Human Resources/ Marketing,
and Fay Neal, Sr. VP/ Chief Operating Officer/ Chief Information Officer.
Franklin Bank went from posting transactions by hand to computer transactions
in 1965, which today offers full-service banking complete with eBanking
on a state-of-the-art computer system and software. Franklin Bank prides

the bank 50 years ago wanted to provide quality banking services with
