PMA: What is your educational and career background?
Cayla has a Master in Communication degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Corporate and Organizational Communication from WKU.
PMA: How did you get started working for Olde Stone?
Cayla: I did some events for the Bowling Green Junior Women’s Club and networked with people who worked at Olde Stone. A job came open for an events coordinator and I was hired. I’m now in charge of all sales and marketing for the club.
PMA: What do you enjoy most about your role there?
Cayla: Definitely interacting with the brides and clients that I meet. I love working as a team with my co-workers alongside local vendors in the area and planning fun parties.
PMA: What are some lessons you have learned throughout your career that has made you a better marketing and communication professional?
Cayla: Network, Network, Network! You have to put yourself out there and just meet people. Being shy just isn’t an option if you want to market your company. I used to be so nervous going to networking events because I didn’t know anyone. I finally just got over it and started talking to everyone there!
PMA: If you could describe yourself in three words, what would those three words be?
Cayla: Outgoing. Calm. Perfectionist.
PMA: What do you feel is the greatest benefit of joining PMA?
Cayla: The dessert that we have at lunch. JUST KIDDING! I love hearing other people’s perspectives and ideas and how they do things. It helps me learn and grow.
